Cochabamba, labelled the culinary capital of the country, is a city in central Bolivia. The area's biggest drawcard is its friendly laid back vibe which is a far cry from the chaos of other South American destinations. One of the city's most recognizable landmarks is the Cristo de la Concordia - a statue of Jesus which is larger than the one in Rio de Janeiro. For an authentic visit go to La Cancha, the biggest open-air market in South America where you can peruse clothing, food and souvenir stores to your hearts delight. Visitors should also try the region's chica, a traditional corn or peach fermented drink.
Cochabamba is a unique destination because it's lively, charming and great for the culturally inclined
