Neuquen is an Argentinian capital city which is located in the country's Patagonia region. This region was one of the last to be subjected to European colonization and as a result the area is rich in Indigenous cultural history. A particular highlight is the UNESCO World Heritage listed site of Cueva de las Manos. The site is home to hand paintings which are over 9000 years old and the chance to view them makes for an extremely unique and powerful cultural experience. Visitors to Neuquen should also try cordero (a unique type of lamb), alfajores and mate, a traditional Argentinian tea. Neuquen is a unique destination because it's lively, charming and great for the culturally inclined
